The Costume Fee is broken up into 2 monthly payments, known as Costume Deposits, in accordance with the draft schedule. Students are measured in October for their costume(s). The first Costume Deposit is used to place a down payment on costumes with the costume companies and is non-refundable. The second costume deposit is used to pay the balance in November to ensure they will arrive in time for recital book pictures. • HOW DOES THE WAITLIST WORK?
During registration, many of our classes become full. For this reason, we provide a waitlist on which you may put your little dancer! To place your dancer on a waitlist, you must go through the normal registration process. The only difference is that there is no charge to register as a wait lister. However, if a spot becomes available in the class, as a convenience to you, Elite Dance will notify you via email, put the waitlisted student into the class, and charge the payment form on file. At any time before class enrollment, should you wish to withdraw the student from the waitlist, please contact the office.
  • WHAT IF I'M UNCERTAIN REGARDING CLASSES FOR WHICH I SHOULD REGISTER?
No problem! The easiest (and best) course of action is to register first and foremost by the age of the student regardless of years of dance or upcoming birthdays. During the first month, should we feel the student should be moved to another class, we will contact you. However, if you are still uncertain in any way regarding classes, we'd love to assist you! Email or call us.
  • WHEN CAN I GET TICKETS TO THE RECITAL?
To maximize value for our families to get the amount of tickets desired together at the shows of their choice, we no longer include tickets in the recital fee. You will be able to easily purchase tickets for the recital(s) of your choice in May through our online ticketing system.
  • WHAT ARE THE CLASS SIZES?
Classes range in size depending on a number of factors. Class sizes do not become bigger than what a teacher can comfortably handle. Multiple Teachers and/or Assistants may or may not be present in class. Assistants are chosen to maximize personal attention for every student. Attention is paid to each student. Each student is pushed on his or her level.
  • WHAT FEES ARE ASSOCIATED WITH DANCE CLASS?

Fees associated with the Fall Session are a registration fee, a yearly tuition fee broken into monthly payments, a costume fee for each type of dance performed in the year end recital, and a recital fee for the recital in June. There are also optional fees which include: a recital program book, a finale t-shirt for the last number in the show, seat vouchers l advanced sale tickets for seats to the recital, and individual and group recital program book picture fees. Fees associated with the Summer Session for dance class, intensives, or summer camps are a registration fee and summer tuition. All fees are collected via automatic debit or automatic draft, known as ‘the draft'.
  • WHAT IS DUE WHEN I REGISTER?
If enrolling from May-August, Registration Fee and first month's tuition is due and will be automatically drafted at the time of registration from the payment form on file. If enrolling during the month of September or later for dance classes, please click 'What's Due When Registering' below.
  • WHAT IF I'M NOT SURE MY LITTLE DANCER WILL LIKE DANCE CLASS? SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR THE RECITAL AND INCUR COSTUME AND RECITAL FEES?
Every student who registers has the option to choose whether or not to participate in the recital in May. If you are unsure whether or not your little dancer will like classes, choose Not Doing Recital on the registration form and you will not incur costume and recital fee charges. Please note: If you choose to have your little dancer participate in the recital, you will be responsible for all recital and costume related fees. Please refer to the draft schedule for when they are due. If you are interested in changing your recital participation status, please let the office know.
  • DO YOU OFFER INDIVIDUAL DANCE PICTURES? IF SO, WHAT'S INCLUDED?
Yes, we do! Picture week takes place sometime in late March or very early April, based on the photographer’s schedule. We offer an all-inclusive Picture Package deal that includes One Individual Picture in the Recital Program Book, Dancer’s inclusion in all class photos in the Recital Program Book, the Photographer's Session Fee, Photo Editing and Finishing, and a Digital Download Link of your dancer's Individual Picture emailed directly to you to do with what you choose! The optional Picture Package deal fee is conveniently drafted on March 1st so that when you come in for dance pictures, the only thing you have to do is enjoy the SMILE you see on your little dancer's face. See below for a more comprehensive look at the four different parts included in this VALUE PACKED package: 1. The Recital Book ¼-of-a-Page Picture Space – No different than purchasing a lot space on which to put a house, this is the lot space, the recital book “real estate” within which your student’s individual dance picture will appear. This also includes the administrative processing work required to correctly insert the picture into the recital book, which is no small feat. 2. The Photo Session – This is a full event. It’s the actual picture taking session, complete with a photographer, a photographer’s assistant, an Elite teacher (usually the owner) posing and helping the student take the best picture(s) possible, and a team of four to six additional people present specifically to streamline the process and deliver a great customer service experience. 3. The Photo Editing & Administrative Processing Finish Work – No picture is complete without editing. Editing is the part of the process that no one sees and takes quite some time to complete, even after the photo session has long been over. In fact, before editing can even begin, pictures must be manually collected, labeled, and sorted. At this point, based on years of experience, the studio Director or Assistant Director will personally pick the picture of the student that she feels best highlights them. Please note: Because of the magnitude of the picture process, the director's decision is final. The picked picture is then edited for you. Once the entire process is completed, a special distribution process is followed to get the finished product directly to you. 4. The Picture Package – Each family receives 1 digital download link with their student(s) individualized dance picture. (If you took pictures in more than one costume, the digital download you receive with the Picture Package deal is in the costume of your choice.) As an added complimentary bonus, Elite Dance also includes your student’s class picture(s) with your download link, further enhancing value. THE TL/DR (Too Long / Didn’t Read) OF IT: The picture fee includes 4 parts: · ¼ Page Picture Space in the Recital Book · The Photo Session Event · Editing & Administrative Processing Work · Your Digital Download Photo Package · Bonus: Your Student’s Class Picture(s)

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD CRIES OR MISBEHAVES DURING CLASS?
Every child has a different personality. A teacher or an assistant will attempt to comfort each child personally if a child is upset. It often takes several classes for students to be acclimated to the classroom environment. Because the class is only once a week, it takes children a little longer to feel comfortable than it would in a daycare or preschool environment where they attend class every day. Tailored responses are made to each child according to the child's personality. The child directs the teachers' responses to any behavior (positive or negative) exhibited. Please talk to the teacher about any behavior that your child exhibits during class that is troubling to you.
  • ARE THE STUDENTS ALLOWED TO BRING ITEMS INTO THE CLASSROOM?
Only 18month-2 year old classes, 2&3 year old classes, and 4&5 year old classes are allowed to bring in their dance bag. If absolutely necessary, students may bring in comfort items (i.e., pacifier, blankets, dolls). The necessity will be determined on an individual basis and at the discretion of our Children's Works director. Food, drink, candy, or gum is not allowed in the classroom.
  • ARE PARENTS GOING TO BE ALLOWED IN THE ROOM WHILE CLASS IS GOING ON?
For the first class, parents will be allowed to walk students into class to put both the child's and the parents' fears to rest. After the first class, the assistants and/or the teacher will take your child at the door and attend to any needs while they are in class, other than bathroom. Please wait until after class to speak with your child or the teacher about concerns you have. Knocking on the windows or "poking your head in" are not permitted, as it completely diverts the attention of every child in the class away from the teacher. You are, however, encouraged to stay and watch class in the viewing area.
  • WHAT CAN MY DANCER WEAR TO CLASS?
Please see the required dance wear menu below for a full list of acceptable class wear. We encourage all the frilly fun outfits!
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF A CHILD HAS TO MISS A CLASS?
Many things arise during the year. However, please try to ensure that the students miss class as little as possible. With younger children, routine is everything. Since students only come once a week, attendance is vital to developing both a quality relationship and important dance skills. If you know in advance you are going to miss a class, click 'Going to Be Absent' in the 'Connect' link in the menu above or scroll down to the quick links in the navigation bar at the bottom of this page.
  • WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS OF ASSISTANTS?
Depending on the class, assistants will be other teachers at Elite, former teacher graduates from Elite, or current teacher graduate candidates. In cases where graduated or graduate students are not available, faculty will choose other qualified assistants. In order to assist, a student must be approved by the owners and the teacher and must be at least 10 years old.
  • WHAT OTHER INFORMATION SHOULD I KNOW?
Each ballet/tap combo class changes shoes halfway through the class. The teachers and assistants will change your child's shoes until they are old enough to do it themselves. Please make sure to label the inside of your child's shoes with their last name or initials at the start of the dance year. Shoes may be switched by accident.
  • WHEN WILL YOU KNOW ABOUT DANCES AND COSTUMES?
Costume measurements for students happen during their Halloween parties. The teacher may show pictures of the costumes and have a song sample sometime before Christmas vacation. The students will complete one dance for ballet and one dance for tap. Each child will be introduced at the beginning of one of their dances. Costume pictures are usually available for viewing sometime between October and December. Please be advised that specific tights and shoes will be required for class pictures and for the recital for each costume and is considered part of the costume.
